Hi, I am BLair Charles
Hey, I’m Blair Charles. I’m a photographer currently studying at Kennesaw State University, and I’ve been behind a camera for nearly a decade. There’s something about freezing real moments as they happen, unscripted, imperfect, honest, that keeps pulling me back.
Photography is how I slow things down and pay attention. I’m drawn to moments that feel natural rather than staged, focusing on light, movement, and the details that usually get overlooked. Whether I’m photographing people, places, or environments, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel true to the moment they were taken.
At the end of the day, photography is how I connect, how I express myself, and how I make sense of the world around me.

My GEAR
I work primarily with Sony mirrorless cameras, chosen for their reliability, dynamic range, and consistency across different shooting environments. My digital setup includes the Sony A7 V and A7 III, paired with a deliberate selection of lenses that allow me to move between detail-focused work and wider environmental images — most often a Sony GM 70–200mm f/2.8, a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens, and a Sony 50mm f/1.8. I also incorporate a 1.33x Moment anamorphic lens when a project benefits from a more cinematic rendering and sense of motion.
Alongside digital work, I also shoot medium format film on a Yashica-Mat. Film plays a slower, more intentional role in my process and influences how I think about pacing, composition, and restraint — even when working digitally.
My Experience
My work spans automotive, portrait, and live-event photography, from enthusiast shows and brand projects to individual sessions and performance settings. I’ve photographed for Caffeine and Octane, Dale Carnegie, Dolce Wheels, and have also worked alongside CADY Studios. I regularly shoot portraits for individuals and couples, as well as live performances for the Kennesaw State University Marching Band and ensembles within the KSU Bailey School of Music, where moments happen fast and you have to catch them as they are. I also work at KEH, which keeps me hands-on with professional camera systems and real-world workflows. It all comes together in a style that stays relaxed and focused, even when things are moving fast.
